The Slavie café in the centre of Prague is one of the most famous art cafés. Actors, dancers, singers, writers and artists used to meet here. The famous history, which dates back to 1881, is continued by the current operators Petra Onderková and her son Jozef. With the intention of continuing the tradition that made the café the epicentre of Czech culture, they organise evenings in honour of former famous guests. The Slavia Café thus commemorated literary personalities such as Jaroslav Seifert, Josef Čapek, Karel Čapek and his wife Olga Scheinpflugová.
